Release VIII // Chapters 18, 19 & 20

Release VIII is here!

Release VIII is a pretty big update, with three chapters, five bios, two CGs, and a new music track. Additionally, I revamped the chapters menu and the gallery menu. I also went back into previous chapters and made some minor tweaks to make the experience better.

This release is the last one before I switch the game over to the "paid for" version -- so download it now while it's still free!

Starting August 8th, the game will be $5 to download. If you downloaded it already, no worries -- you won't need to pay for the new content! In the future, when there are a lot of chapters and the price is no longer adequate for the level of content in the game, I will raise the price again. Here's what that will look like:

Chapters released
205586
Price$5$10$20 (final price)

I will also be releasing a demo of the game sometime next week that will contain the first ten chapters. I was going to include the first twenty, but that seems a bit excessive seeing as it contains 36K words.

It's extremely important to me to price my game fairly, so please let me know if this is too expensive -- or, maybe you feel like I'm underpricing it and the game should be $100 -- a dollar for each chapter!! ;D

Either way, let me know in the comments!

Sounds good to me; I've said it before, but I think the pricing you're going for seems fair. Naturally, I'd pay more for it, but I'm invested in your work; there's a point where you end up either overpricing a piece and causing less people to look at it, or underpricing it, and convincing people it's not worth a glance in the first place.

Your prices seem like they avoid that to me; but again, I'm not an expert on this.

A lot happened here, and unfortunately I'd be spoiling a lot of punchlines and stuff that could be auspicious if I talked about it. Uh, dang, well - the most terrifying part of a certain Mastermind introduced this set was, uh, their ability to remove the effects of overwork and project a confident and winning smile at all times.

(Just - terrifying.)

I was pretty shocked by the penultimate chapter and the conclusion, even though I should've guessed something like it'd happen. Again, I'm not a good detective!

But the resolution to that resolution the GM's planned, oh, ahaha...

The end-of-installment rush is a real thing, is what I'm saying. Now, I'll just be going back to wistfully thinking about Mastermind Garden's intense likeability and Detective Asper's powerfully bright shirt.

Such are these deep thoughts of mine, in sum; that last CG of Nell... There's clearly a hidden relatability stat, yeah?

Voices might be the better track to my ears, but I'll always praise anything to do with Lord Loomy. The 28th installment of the series occupies a mint position in my collection, unopened, right next to the Yuzuki Teaches Calligraphy instructional DVD.

p.s.

Paper-thin, huh? Slakes really lives up to his bio.

Ah good :) I will adjust the prices if they are unsuccessful.

I'm glad to hear the ending was a surprise! There are many more surprises coming, including the fact that in the next release I have actually brightened Asper's already powerfully bright shirt by 11%. ;)

You've got the best patch/update notes, I tell ya.
Looking forward to them! c:

Just to check-- if we've already downloaded the game, we won't have to pay for new content? Sorry, I know you said it above, but I want to double-check, since I'm... very paranoid, evidently.

That's correct, if you've already downloaded the game, you won't have to pay for new content. That also goes for people who pay for it when it's $5 and $10 -- they will also have access to all the content in the game. :)
