Release XXXVI // Chapters 88, 89 & 90
Release XXXVI is here!
Release XXXVI contains three chapters and two new music tracks! Sorry it's late — it was really hard to stay away from the news this week. But what will not be hard is self-quarantining — that's something that I have, in effect, been doing for the past ten years.
This week the biggest challenge was how the characters needed to "sit", but I didn't have the time to make "sitting" sprites, so I needed to position the backgrounds when rendering them just so. It's not perfect, but hopefully it's not too distracting.
So it's down to ten more chapters! Four more weeks until I reach one hundred chapters — one final month of work. It seems so weird that I've been working on this game for about nine months. I can't decide if it feels longer than that or shorter than that.
Even though this week I feel I slacked off a little and let it slip to the weekend, as always, I'm hoping that next time there is not a "last-minute crunch" to get the Release out.
I know, I know, I say that every time — I'm doing my best, okay?!
Until next time!
— LockedOn.

greg c'mon lad, step it up
The watching room after-parties are just great, but, the meat... There was all sorts of tension here, at first I'd made a note to remind you of a glitch, but.. Whew. When I realised what was happening, my jaw practically hit the floor. I think the mastermind might have betrayed themselves juuuust a bit towards the end, but I think you even foreshadowed this in one of the interviews?Just - fantastic. Wreckoning really set the tone, too. That part where it kind of 'flutters' for lack of a better word... Awesome.
As for the 'sitting', seemed fine to me? I don't know if anyone is going to find it distracting, but I kind of doubt it.
There's a lot I want to say about the mystery, but mostly I'm just on the edge of my seat. And (naturally) the watching room segment is awesome. Greg... Man. Are we sure Greg isn't a (former?) mastermind? 'Cause I think forcing criminals-turned-criminal-voicemasters-into-repositories-of-dead-pop-culture-reference-spouting-machines is one of the most evil things I've ever heard of.
Anyhow, self-isolation gang for life. Between work and hobbies, it's not like I've got any spare time, anyhow; but I do hope you take the time to take breaks, drink water, maybe tea now and then, stretch your limbs.
Ten chapters, huh... Looking forward to all of 'em!
Yes, Greg definitely has an authoritarian tendency. Probably due to growing up as a "wimpy kid" where he was continually oppressed by his, frankly, cruel parents *wink* *wink*. Glad the twist worked, there's more of them coming!
