Only 3000 humans remain after three apocalyptic events, referred to as the "Catalysts", severely decreased the population.

Catalyst One resulted in the air being toxic to breathe, so everyone wears masks.

After the collapse of the government, various organizations have formed, and fight each other for territory and resources.

Oliver Naut is a scrappy kid who has grown up alone in the Deadzones — the most toxic areas on the planet — with nothing but the robotic swords in his arms for protection.

But now he's teamed up with Namo, a skilled ex-assassin, to prevent an army of robotic soldiers from falling into the hands of the organizations, who will only use them for more violence and death.

Will Oliver be able to bring humanity together to fight for peace instead?

Catalyst Wake is a linear visual novel. Instead of the typical "sprites against backgrounds" format, the dialogue is accompanied by illustrations, which gives it a cinematic quality. It's much like a motion comic.

It's a continuation of a series of animations and comics that were released between 2011 and 2016 that will finally conclude the story.

Content warning: Blood, fantasy violence.

Hey, big fan of your other stuff, excited to play this in time.

"It's a continuation of a series of animations and comics that were released between 2011 and 2016 that will finally conclude the story."

Does this mean this should be played after viewing the animations and comics, cheers.

Hello — Thanks! Not necessarily, as there is a recap available and I do try to explain as much as I can within the story. I guess it depends on if you don't mind watching very janky animations from 2011! :)

Just checking but I assume buying here would not also give a Steam key? So I should wait for Feb 10th if I want it there?

Also added an entry to vndb for this, hope everything looks correct: https://vndb.org/v33325

Oh, that's extremely cool — thank you! Steam keys will become available here after I release it on Steam, and should show up on the itch download page when I add them. But it's been a bit hit or miss, sometimes people don't get access to them even though they bought the game here. In that case, feel free to reach out to me here in the comments or on Twitter or anywhere else, and I'll just give you a Steam code. :)

I can feel that you must have hard-workings on those CGs. The movie-like style really surprised me, but the story is a little bit too rushed I think. The change of an important character seems too sudden.

But the demo is good. I am looking forward to the full version.

Hmm, yes. It's regrettable that I didn't have more time to fully flesh out that character's change. It was hard to sell that while keeping the story short, without making the story all about her. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway.

Loved the demo.

Thanks so much! That's very nice of you to say :)

(Long time no see, haha.)

I didn't quite process what this email notification was for a minute, but now I'm supremely excited to see this new project of yours! It looks amazing and I can't wait to see it when it's finished ^^

Oh hey! Yes it's been a while haha. Thanks so much! :)
